Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

This policy explains what Oppn collects and why. The controller is Alexandre Ehrlich EI, 3 Rue des Arquebusiers, 67000 Strasbourg, France, legal representative Alexandre Ehrlich, contact mail@oppn.net.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and a hashed password when you sign up, or the profile name and email sent by the identity provider if you use Google.
  • Links you create: the slug, the destination URL and the optional label.
  • Clicks on a gateway link: date and time, referrer when the browser sends one, user agent, device family (mobile, tablet, desktop), country derived from the IP address, and browser language. We do not store the full IP address and we do not use advertising trackers on the redirect page.
  • Your language choice, kept in your browser so the site opens in the same language next time.

Why we keep it

To run the service you asked for: sign you in, redirect gateway links to their destination, count clicks and show your statistics, and prevent abuse. The legal basis is the performance of the service and our legitimate interest in running and securing it.

Who sees it

Only you see the statistics of your links. We share data with our service providers strictly as needed: hosting by PlanetHoster (4416 Louis-B.-Mayer Street, Laval, Quebec, H7P 0G1, Canada), and the authentication and storage services that run the site. We never sell your data.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, from which referring site, on which device, browser and country, and how long a visit lasts. Analytics only loads after you accept the cookie banner at the bottom of the page, and we do not load it if you decline. Google stores this in cookies belonging to this site (_ga and a related cookie) in your browser and sends us aggregated figures. We do not receive your IP address, we do not link these measurements to your Oppn account, and we do not use Google Ads or share data with Google for advertising. These measurements are kept for 14 months by default. You can stop them at any time with Google’s opt-out browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by deleting or blocking the analytics cookies in your browser settings.

How long

Click statistics are kept while the link exists and are deleted with it. Account data is deleted when you ask for your account to be closed, apart from what the law obliges us to keep.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to receive a copy of it, or to object to some processing. Write to mail@oppn.net and we answer within one month. If you consider we misuse your data, you can complain to the CNIL (3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07).

Security

Access to the data is restricted to the people and systems that need it, passwords are hashed, and connections are served over HTTPS.
